Test for Mister Linky's

OK so I am toying with the idea of running some comps on my blog whereby I allow links to be left.
I follow a few blogs who use this Mister Linky...so I am giving it a go.
Please note whilst this is just a test run...if it works, by all means leave a link...we shall call it a love link :) a link to your latest creation. Oh and I know it is not Monday...but until I get my head around it all it will do. Oh and if you would like to give it a try yourself..visit Mister Linky here.
Fingers and toes crossed it works.

Pens V's Pencils

Back in December I took part in the December Riverland Kaszazz Scrapbooking card challenge and this was my entry.

I coloured the image using Whispers Strokes pens, after stamping the image with black Staz-on ink.
I was recently asked by a customer what I had used, but really wanted to show that for a very cost effective alternative you can use water colour pencils.

Now as I really wanted to show the difference so I have made two more, but coloured one image (left) with the pens and the image on right with Faber-Castell water colour pencils. I won't go into the "how to" as you can see loads of how to videos on YouTube and each brand of pens or water pencils are different what I tell you may have worked for the brand I used it may not for you. Whats the cost difference? Well again that is going to differ but pens will set you back around $3.50 - $5.00 each and a packet of 24 water colour pencils you can pick up for around $20.00- $30.00 depending on brand. Trial and error and practice before you use on a project.
Hope this helps...Kelli this post was for you :)

Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting, Tracy

*note I will pop back later and list the items I used...as right now I must run, the worms are calling and I hope the fish are biting :)

Right so that's it for today, as we are off fishing! (crossing something else off my "goals list"...doing something crazy with the kids)

P.S two posts in one day! tick for one of my 2012 goals :)

Back to school

Well today my 3 boys headed back to school. I now have one in high school (yr 9) and the two little ones are yr 5 and yr 2 this year.

Yesterday I was getting the last minute things ready for school, bags packed, uniforms ready even packing most of the lunchboxes last night! Just had to make sandwiches this morning (we shall see how long this lasts) I went and did the grocery shopping too, and boy the cost of things are going up! So I headed to my in-laws to get some fruit and vegetables, I also went to a local roadside stall for the melons...this is what I got :)

From my in-laws I got seedless grapes, capsicums, sweet peppers, tomatoes, grape and cherry tomatoes...oh and some home made pickles in the silver bowl (all the more yummier as I didn't make them) The melons I paid for from a local roadside stall...all for $12.00! That massive watermelon was 15.4kg and was $8.00. And you know what? There is dirt on the capsicums, some of the tomatoes are split and a few of the grape berries are bad...I washed them, sorted them - we ate the tomatoes that were split last night in the salad. But here is something they don't have...chemicals! Which means they won't hold that long in the fridge...not that they will last! We have eaten a quarter of the melons already!

Here are the melons all cut up (I needed to so they would fit in the fridge!) While I was cutting them up I did the lunchboxes and also cut some into smaller slices so the boys could just grab a piece when they wanted to. It saves making a mess each time they want some, in fact I am sitting here eating some of the watermelon right now, trying not to dribble the juices all down myself. (but not succeeding very well)
I have gotten quite a bit done first day back, I headed to the gym, went to work for a few hours, done some washing (never ending in my house). Now just waiting for the camera battery to charge to I can take and upload some more goodies for tomorrow night sale at passion 4 papercrafting.
Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting, Tracy

Goals for 2012

Hello and welcome to 2012....This year I thought I would set myself some GOALS...not "new year resolutions" as I never seem to keep them and are then very disappointed in myself! Two major ones are to do more crafting and keep my craft corner tidy....which I did both over the weekend and will post about that very soon...scary "before" photos and all! oh and the after photos :)

OK so here is a list of a few goals I would like to achieve this year.
  1. Blog more often, I would love to say once a week but more achievable would be once a month, any more and we will put that down to a bonus.
  2. Keep my craft corner tidy!
  3. To craft more often...to craft when I "want to" not just when I "need to" (making a last minute card)
  4. Enter more online challenges, I follow a few and always think wow I could do that. Now if I could meet this goal I could cross of goal number 3 and number 5. :)
  5. Use up some of my items I have stashed away "for something special" I have so much stuff! as I discovered while cleaning up/tiding up my craft corner over the weekend.
  6. NOT to buy any new items, now I now there is no way I could do this for a whole year! but I think i could achieve it for say a month.
  7. Sell off/giveaway some of the items I really don't use, but just had to have! Have one box ready to go from the weekends clean up
  8. Scrap more, I have SO many photos printed off and found them all over the place (now all in one...OK two! boxes)
  9. NOT to print any photos off unless I am going to scrap them the very same day!
  10. Finish a project before I start another one! Found a few while having the tidy up so now have a box waiting to finish off, some are just waiting for one more item to be added as I felt I just didn't have the right one, yep that great big stash of stuff and still didn't have what I needed!
  11. To exercise more often, I feel great when I do! I joined a gym last year and just love going for some "me" time. I do it not so much for the weight loss (is great if I do) but more for the keeping fit and healthy. I don't normally go during the Christmas holidays so it has been a long 6 weeks and I can't wait to get back next Monday.
  12. To sort out my pictures on my computer. Lable the folders, move items around and get all the old photos from my old laptop.
  13. To do some crazy stuff with the kids.
  14. Take some inspiration from some of my many scrapbooking and card making magazines I have.
I will be editing this post to keep you all up to date with how I am going and add a few more to it.

So coming up next will be a post on the before and after of the craft corner, so already I will be ticking off number 1 and 2 and as I now have a box of items ready to post to my face book page ready for sale number 7 is a partial tick off too :)

Happy crafting and thanks for stopping by
Tracy
